“In to the Second Season of the Grand-Prix”

Our first-year-challenge in the FIM MotoGP World Championship Moto2 as a chassis manufacturer concluded in an great honor of having won a total of nine championship points. During the 2018 season, NTS had continuously updated and upgraded the Moto2 machine to supply the two brave riders, Steven Odendaal and Joe Roberts, not only with variety of main-frames and swingarms, but also with detailed parts and items to enhance the potential, reliability, and the maintenance-ease of the machine as a whole. As a result, while the championship-title-contenders were almost 1.5 seconds ahead of us in the beginning of the season, NTS riders made it to less than 0.8 seconds gap in average in the latter half of the season. Also, it was a very good feeling when NTS riders dominated the rest and became the fastest, and the second fastest in a free practice session 2, Mugello Grand Prix of 2018. Now, into the 2019, CEO of NTS, Masahiro Namatame talks his ambition toward the second season in the grand-prix.

“FIM World Grand-Prix: I had always been a fan of the event, which I had always dreamed of in my youth though a TV screen. It was when I was 20 years old, when I decided to help my father who owned a metal process company related to cars and motorcycles, which, back then, was my answer how to get closer to the GP.
Lucky enough, I was encouraged strongly in a loud voice by the clients how to do it, what not to do, and why they need it in a certain manner. Thanks to such spartan education and experience, we have grown to a company who now are capable of serving as a precise metal process specialist in serious industries such as aerospace and motorsports, which both require top level quality control, and the highest metal process techniques.

Being frank and honest, our first year challenge was rather a knockabout comedy, although all the workers at NTS were eager to produce better bikes for the team. Well, I must emphasize that the reason to this, was simply because we are a “specialists” in something else, and not a “professional” in racing motorcycle chassis designing. That said, we are not excused to make bad results. We know how serious and honorable the GP is, and we are resolved to fight for the championship.

Now we will enter into a second year challenge. 2018 season truly was a valuable one since we now know where we currently stand and where we should start. NTS will target a better result in the 2019 season and we are determined to keep on pushing until we can celebrate our challenge.
